All employees are encouraged to use work time to learn and explore material related to job performance. Employees demonstrating learning and application of new concepts within the organization are recognized during the evaluation process and may receive a wage increase. Employees are encouraged to think, "Family First" and bring minor children to the library in the event that alternate care is unavailable. Employees are allowed to work from home. Flex time is offered and scheduling college students around their set schedules is a priority. Staff are encouraged to share thoughts and ideas regarding the workflows and projects in the library and the administrative staff is encouraged to listen to this feedback and consider any suggested modifications. Every person employed by the library is valued and appreciated, and the library demonstrates this value with an awards line in the budget. The awards line is used to celebrate life events for the staff, award bonuses for work outside the daily duties and job description, and for little things like take out lunch or pizza throughout the year. The library is a bully free zone and encourages tolerance and acceptance of staff diversity.
